ADL Fashion Week 2024: Redefining the Boundaries of Fashion
3 days. 25 venues. 40 events.
Proudly redefining the boundaries of fashion, our biggest ever ADL Fashion Week program put all eyes on the city between 11 – 13 October.
In 2024, runways, workshops, long lunches and more ticketed events were joined by stacks of free experiences, offers and an after dark shopping event Rundle St Up Late for an unmissable line-up celebrating local and global fashion.
To our staff, event organisers, partners, designers, retailers, creative and production teams, suppliers, media, models, and of course, all those who attended an event this year, thank you for helping ADL Fashion Week reach new heights.
Bring on 2025!
THE LOFT AT HOTEL RICHMOND
We were proud to introduce The Loft at Hotel Richmond during ADL Fashion Week, an immersive central hub home to exclusive brand showcases from Paolo Sebastian, Effie Kats, Lana Wilkinson and Yaneth, sustainability panels and events including the South Australian Fashion Industry Association’s industry breakfast and South Australian Style Magazine wrap party. It also served as a vibrant meeting place and a relaxing retreat for attendees to dine and unwind between events.
RUNDLE MALL
Your front row seat to ADL Fashion Week, Rundle Mall saw a stack of exclusive pop-ups from Gelato Messina, R.M. Williams and Campari, plus incredible shopping offers from a range of retailers. Rundle Mall was also home to many ADL Fashion Week events, including the Imagine Circular Fashion pop-up, Australian Icons Vintage Runway and more.
The centre of the shopping strip transformed into the Jardin de Mall, a Parisian oasis featuring a disco, photobooth and Maison de Shop & Win, where shoppers could enter for their chance to win a share of a $30,000 prize pool.
RUNDLE ST UP LATE
Rundle St Up Late celebrated our best local and Australian stores on the Friday night of ADL Fashion Week. Guests headed east for exclusive offers, luxury redeemable gift bags and complimentary beverages thanks to Bird in Hand and Waterbox, plus a DJ and drink specials at Luna10 in Crowne Plaza.
RUNWAYS & FIRST LOOKS
Pre-loved, vintage, avant-garde or ready-to-wear, ADL Fashion Week was proud to deliver an array of runways and collection first looks.
Among the stunning line-up were an Acler x Penfolds collaboration, a couture+love+madness runway noir at Sofitel Adelaide’s Club Millésime and the hottest looks of the season served at Hotel Alba’s Summer Pool Party. Local and emerging designers (including TAFE SA students) were championed at Bon Vivant, a collaboration between The Models and Finesse Models at Gilbert Street’s newest event space.
SUSTAINABILITY SESSIONS
A third of ADL Fashion Week events this year had a sustainability focus.
Events included TEXTILE, a free community runway upcycling preloved clothing, circular fashion pop-ups and vital industry panels discussing the future of fashion and the environment.
We were thrilled to partner with Adelaide Film Festival to present the red-carpet premiere of Dust to Dust, focusing on Japanese haute couture designer Yuima Nakazato and his radical reimagining of fashion using green technology.
FOOD & FASHION
Is there a better pairing? Food met fashion in a delectable combination, serving up indulgent high teas with Pommery Champagne, long lunches at Serafina, East End Cellars and more. Plus, the Icons Only Lunch at Crowne Plaza’s KOOMO Restaurant & Bar also included a panel discussion with some of Adelaide’s finest creatives including Poh Ling Yeow, Lord Mayor Dr Jane-Lomax Smith, Anna Vlach, and Paul Vasileff – who knew the founder of Paolo Sebastian was an avid tracksuit fan?
WORKSHOPS & MASTERCLASSES
There were plenty of hands-on opportunities during ADL Fashion Week! Styling workshops, visible mending masterclasses and even the opportunity to crochet your own bikini – how did you get involved?
